Central Asia Gold AB ("CAG AB") is a Swedish junior mining company focused on gold production in Russia, primarily in Zabaikalskiy region and the Republics of Khakassia and Tyva. The company has currently 4 operations involving exploration and production of gold, one of which, Kara-Beldir LLC, is a joint venture with the major Canadian gold producer Centerra Gold Inc.
The group's main assets comprise a large number of mineral licenses held by the various subsidiaries. The licenses as at the end of September 2011 are estimated to contain almost 1,000,000 troy ounces (oz) (1 oz = 31.1 g) of gold reserves according to the Russian C1+C2 categories (equaling some 32 tons).
In summer 2011, Central Asia Gold AB employed 1,139 people, including contractors. In 2010, 730 kg of gold were produced.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Central Asia Gold AB is listed at the Swedish stock exchange NASDAQ OMX First North Premier. The number of shareholders was approximately 3,700 as of September 30, 2011.
In September 2011, the company had 17,616,987 ordinary shares in issue and a market capitalization of 385,812,015 SEK.
